About — Colin McRae Photography

I am interested in the ways light and shadow transform objects and scenes to challenge the mind and make the ordinary something extra-ordinary. I am always searching for the uncommon in our common world. For me, it is a never ending process of learning and visualizing, attempting to render in a photograph the interplay of light, shadow, and shape.

Colin McRae began his professional career photographing musicians for record labels and music publications and served as the principal photographer for the University of California Berkeley Art Museum. From there, he moved on to a long freelance career. His aerial, landscape, and architectural photography has been featured in international exhibits and numerous publications.
